72.
The crowd here is NOT leather! Not very impressed. When I went it was the Saturday night before Hallowe'en so maybe not typical. Almost no one in leather. Did not see many mature men. Bartenders OK but not super friendly even if you tip very well. No clothes/coat check. Having one would encourage folks to take off their coats and whatever. At least this place is cleaner than Ripcord.
Mixed
The crowd is definitely friendly here, the bartenders not so much. The patio is NOT that clean, and anyone who thinks so hasn't seen it in daylight. How hard would it be to hose it down once in a while? Obviously they are not spending money or taking time to make this place as nice as it could be. In many ways a typical bar. The crowd shows up at 11 pm, at off times you may find yourself bored unless you are looking for activity outside.
A Good Place to Hook up
Been going here for years. Definitely a good place if you want to get off. Needless to say, the "big boys" (and I don't mean height and weight) show up from time to time. And a lot of guys you wouldn't see at bars, too (married, etc). The place is nice. The gym is well turned out, pool is great, and they keep the whole place clean. Only problem is the showers. Hot water is intermittent. Update: December 2010. UGH. Got $29 video room because there were no regular rooms left. Remote did not work - . No refund, no attempt at staff to make things right. I guess since they have only one competitor (Midtowne), they figure "the queens will put up with anything". How sad the 4th largest city in the US still has 70's-era mentality.
Fantastic
Really interesting food, fantastic service. Impressed!
Not A Dive
Really enjoyed George's! First and foremost the place is clean and neat - unlike the other bars nearby. Very friendly bartender and good service, and a nice laidback crowd.
Loved it
My first off-Broadway experience; i saw a play with some lesser-known actors, but it was quite good. The staff at Second Stage was polite and well-informed, and the crowd was friendly, too. Definitely plan to see more plays here on visits to New York.
liked it very much...
and i can be pretty picky. the nicest part was definitely the service... friendly attentive and helpful. the drinks were very good too. the food was not terribly imaginative, but was certainly tasty.
The best coffee
These folks are professional at selling and serving coffee ... Peet's set the bar for the best coffee in town years ago. They sell everything related to coffee, and if you like your coffee strong and black, this is the place!
A Bit of the Older Crowd
A fun bar that serves very tasty Bloody Marys. The crowd is a bit older than the more popular bars down the street, and very friendly.
Fabulous food
A very gay crowd, really nice service and great food! It tends to be a bit crowded and noisy, because it's so popular, but they really go out of their way to show you a good time.
Love it
Great food and really nice service. A very relaxed and slightly hip place; menu is mostly sandwiches and salads. A good choice when you're in the Montrose.
Very impressed
Food was great and the service was top-notch. The staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make sure we had everything we needed.
Liked it
Have only been once, but I would try it again. It's definitely casual (place your order at the counter and get a number) but I'm not so sure it's inexpensive. If you get a "dinner" and some sweets to go, you'll spend about $20. Definitely authentic, though, with lots of traditional Greek dishes
A Free Museum
In a city where museum admissions can cost $7 or more, the Menil is a great alternative. Always something new on exhibit, and always free parking. A real find.
