Beautiful facility, friendly staff but.....

My partner and I used to go to Steamworks....the facility is clean, the amnenities are excellent (the workout area, especially) and the staff is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We stopped going to Steamworks because it seemed to us that on Friday nights nobody was there to have sex. It seemed like everyone was really high and just walking around frantically. The music is teriffic, the rooms are spacious and well-appointed but the lack of action is a "dealbreaker" for us. We prefer Spa XS now that St. Marc's Spa is closed.

Staff and facilities are great

My partner and I often reserve a room, usually on Friday nights. The place is usually busy between 10:00pm and 5am. The facility itself is excellent and very very clean. The sauna, the hot tub, dry sauna and shower facilities are extremely well maintainted. There are private showers with douche stations as well as numerous lavatory facilities and additional showers on each level. The rooftop deck is nice for unwinding. There are amenities galore including a full-service bar, pool table, dark rooms, mazes, glory holes, a tanning booth and massage services. I would say that the only real negative would be the lack of a functional, up-to-date workout area. The staff is always very friendly and efficient and the crowd is very diverse with something for everyone. XS does occasional theme nights; bears, asian, indian, blackout, etc. Compared to Steamworks, XS is a FAR better choice if you are into having sex. If you just want to walk around in circles and not get laid, go to Steamworks.
