In the eye of the believer
Loved the logo (Tonka imitation), and the place has a prominent corner location, off the beaten path and still at the crossroads between the Folsom and Castro hubs. But you can really find a cuter crowd elsewhere and the music is too tired. Although, there aren't that many places playing this kind of crappy rock that can fill a room. It's all in the eyes of the believers, not mine, alas.
Tiki Tacky
It's question of taste. The place is very popular, some people like the gaudy tiki decoration and tired hits from the 80s, I don't.
Without Much Competition
There are different bars and clubs in Palm Springs, but Hunter's is certainly the only one that offers the best music, nicest space, and sexiest crowd. Good VJs and plasma screens keep the place bumping, and there isn't much attitude around. It doesn't hurt either that the place has one of the best locations in town.
