I was terribly disappointed last Saturday night. I had been here 3 years ago when it was a bar that was crowded, friendly and fun. The evening was early (about 9:30pm), it wasn't busy and there was nobody waiting at the bar. I went up with my three friends to the grey haired bartender, who I discovered later was probably a manger. After taking my order he shouted, "Just one drink?". I couldn't hear him because of the volume, so asked him to repeat what he said. Rolling his eyes, he yelled the same question. Unsure of what he meant, I queried him. He responded, "Is that all?". Obviously I was with three other people, so I stated that the others wanted a drink too. One friend said he wanted a beer. He responded with, "What sort of beer, we have 40.". Before giving more detail about what was available, he walked off to make my drink, while the others floundered trying to see what was on tap and what might be in the fridge. He continued to be unhelpful, coming back and listing a few of the beers, then repeating, "We have 40 beers, what do you want?". After finally getting our drinks, we sat outside, because the music was too loud to hold a conversation inside. The smell of cigarette and cannabis smoke was pervasive. Overall it was a very unsatisfactory experience, particularly for two of my friends for whom it was their first time in Palm Springs. After I had talked up how great I had found this bar in the past, I was embarrassed at our experience this time. Needless to say we didn't stay for another drink. I am disgusted by the unnecessary rudeness this bartender displayed to us. The friendly atmosphere has been lost and I will not be returning to this establishment. There are plenty of other choices in Palm Springs. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.
Friendly neighbourhood bar
Friendly, relaxed bar without big city pretentiousness. Drinks are cheap, as is the pool. Usually a good game going, so put your name on the board to join in (but watch out for the drag queen pool shark!!). There are karaoke nights and a DJ on weekends. We missed underwear night by a week, but it was a hoot on previous visits. There's a cafe next door which opens after the bar closes on Fri and Sat night for late-night hangover prevention meals. Definitely worth a try if you're after something a little more low key.
Wow
Ended up here on my first night in town. It was totally pumping. Wall-to-wall bears, music, stiff drinks and the bar food was pretty good.
Friendly and good drinks
The owners are very friendly, the drinks are reasonable (huge cocktail menu). Quiet early in the evening but picks up later. Oh - and cool retro music that isn't so loud so you can chat
Loved it
My first experience in Palm Springs and it couldn't have been a better one. Triangle Inn is a more intimate resort with a relaxing feel. Your hosts Michael and Steve are most accommodating, and with the change in California marriage laws, they performed a wedding while I was there which was just gorgeous. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Relax by the pool, chat to guests in the jacuzzi or hang out in your room. The choice is yours. Eric the pool boy is most accommodating...
Outstanding accommodation
Managed to get a room here at the last minute as everything else was booked out that weekend. From booking on the phone through to checking out, the entire experience was memorable. The staff are super friendly. Met some great new friends there. The rooms are well appointed and the facilities top notch. Breakfast is delicious. Highly recommended and I'm looking forward to my next stay there
Fun and friendly
A nice little hide away in freezing Boston. The atmosphere and the bears are warm and friendly. Came on Sunday karaoke night and later in the week for an evening drink. Lively crowd and strong drinks.
Best bar in Anchorage
Really nice bar for newcomers and regulars. Kinda quiet for most of the week but really takes off on Friday and Saturday. Karaoke twice a week, half naked Pictionary monthly on the first Wednesday of the month and drag shows on Friday nights. Friendly bar staff and a mixed clientele. Dance space on one side of the complex and food available Fri/Sat nights. If you're looking for a low-stress social outlet this is it.
Funky bar
Gay friendly bar. Big outdoor area and more intimate indoor spaces. Still patrons here at 1am on a weeknight - must be a good sign!
Good wholesome food
This is a hip and artsy place for hearty and wholesome food. Open for breakfast and lunch. Breakfasts are served all day and sooo good. Always busy so ring ahead to get your name on the list if you have a group or try the counter if you're by yourself. Good coffee - drip or espresso (they will make an 8oz espresso if you ask :). Gluten free and vegan can be catered for. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Try crab omelette is a must try!
Great location, super friendly
This is not an exclusively gay Bed and Breakfast. Mixed crowd but staff and patrons were super friendly. Nicely appointed rooms, comfy beds and privacy if you want it. Small shared kitchenette in rear building. Continental breakfast included with your stay. Close to the Coastal Trail just down 5th Ave for running/walking/biking. There's a bike hire place right outside the Inn. Would definitely stay here again.
Great place to stay
Stayed here for a week and got upgraded to a larger room with a discount! Converted apartment complex with ready parking. Large, clean rooms with kitchenette. Fantastic pool and jacuzzi. Doug and Kenny are very friendly and gave lots of good tips on local hang-outs. Although it was a quiet week (probably too cold by Phoenix standards - only 80-90F!!), it was nice to have the place to myself and go midnight skinny dipping in the warm pool. The locals come on day passes and were fun to chat to. I really enjoyed my time here.
It's okay
Nice patio area and good music mix from the Bartender/DJ. It was kinda quiet because I think everyone had gone to Charlie's. Worth a look.
Hot and happening
This is the bar where the beautiful people go, and apparently the place to be seen. Definitely the hot spot on a Saturday night. Two-stepping and line dancing, big patio area (** warning - all designated as smoking area **), and a Mexican hole-in-the-wall out the back. Personally it wasn't my scene, but a fun place if you like dancing and crowds. The shirts started to come off after midnight...
The jewel of Key West
Stayed at the Equator with a couple of friends in 2008 and had the best time. Great staff, potent cocktail hour, lounging in the clothing optional pool (mostly optional...!). The rooms are well appointed and walking distance to everywhere of interest. Highly recommended!
