I had read favorable reviews of this bar so decided to check it out one Saturday afternoon in November. Although the bar wasn't crowded, almost every seat at the bar was occupied..by SMOKERS! EVERYONE in the bar was smoking. If you're not a smoker, you most likely won't be comfortable in there ( I wasn't) I ordered a beer and it seemed like a nice crowd but couldn't wait to finish my beer and leave. Having recently moved to FL I am still shocked over how many people here smoke! I won't be returning anytime soon.

having recently moved to the St Petersburg area I was looking for a fun place that might have a Sunday tea dance. I was anxious to try The Flamingo but left extremely disappointed. This place is really trashy and should be leveled and rebuilt. The street view shows a very old and dated motel facade. I was hoping there would be something appealing on the other side but this place is really sad. really loud techno music blaring in the pool area and although there were a few people actually in the pool it was actually the only redeeming attribute to the entire place. I ordered a draft beer and it was $5.25. Rip-off! Since I was by myself, I decided to take a seat and watch the crowd from a table around the pool. I was not able to sit back plastic chairs or they would collapse. (I'm not overweight!) Everything was old and worn out including many of the patrons..I Having moved from a city without a significant gay culture I was very much looking forward to finding one here..MAJOR DISSAPOINTMENT! A city as beautiful as St Pete deserves much better!
