    We always enjoy Christina Wan's

And she's usually onsite herself, very friendly & outgoing. But I'm not sure I'd call it upscale, though very nice inside, because the prices really aren't that expensive, especially if you arrive in time for the Sunset Specials. That gives the wrong impression that it's overly costly, when in fact I think it has very good value for excellent food, service and surroundings. Not only do I go there regularly, but we often invite our friends, something we wouldn't risk if we didn't know they would be thoroughly pleased, as they always are.

One of our neighborhood places and a Wilton Manors institution

We know the 2 owners, and most of the staff. There are only a few places where we always feel at home, and confident in the menu, and this is one of them on Wilton Drive. If you're visiting for the great Florida weather this is a perfect way to exploit it while having lunch on the patio under the palms. This is what gay Florida is all about - don't miss it!

Go when the weather's nice, as it usually is...

...because that's the best way to experience Le Patio, dining outdoors in the back, and we especially enjoy it in the evening. It's just so tiny & charming. But the welcome you'll get from owners Jean & Vero will be large. A lovely couple, offering lovely dishes. A counterpoint to the more typical big restaurants, it's one of those little secrets that only the locals ever know about.

Worked fine for us last month

We arrived in P-Town w/o reservations, changing our plans last minute and not staying at a family house farther down the Cape. We were surprised almost all those lovely Victorian places had No Vacancy signs out during the last week in September, cause we might have tried one for the atmosphere. We found the Boatslip with the GayCities iPhone app, and it's like a formula US motel, nothing special. But, they do have free off-street on-premises parking, some spaces lower-level covered, while other fancier hotels make you use public pay lots down the street. Plus we had a lovely bayside view off our balcony, a private swimming pool, beach access, WiFi, and a Continental breakfast, all at an off-season rate cheaper than anyplace else we found. We were only in our room to sleep anyway, so it served us perfectly. Unfortunately our midweek stay wasn't during one of their tea dances, so we can't rate that. They also have a pleasant-enough bar with an outdoor patio along Commercial St, where we enjoyed meeting other guests from around the country.

    Totally Superb

We only found it through the GayCities iPhone app, cause it really is kinda hidden. On the bayside of Commercial Street (the mostly non-sidewalk side), you only see a painted sign. It marks a short alleyway, to some steps down to a French-door entrance. Inside is a modest-sized but lovely restaurant, with great food and service. There really is a Jimmy, whom we met, and his partner Ray. We liked it so much we went there 2 nights in a row, breaking our usual rule of trying a different place each night while on vacation. We figured it was unlikely we'd find another place we'd like as much. Plus the owners are gay and on the premises, the staff is excellent, the prices reasonable for the quality of dishes, the atmosphere very warm & cozy, not blatantly touristy. We couldn't ask for anything more. Definitely on our list for our next P-Town trip.
