Ocean Park yes there are crimes just like everywhere else. You always have to be careful when ever you travel. Just by being gay the locals might think that you have money to throw around. Do not be angry but you get many tourist who go there to pay the boys for sex. They get used to this and that is all they are looking for. If there is danger then you know why.
