Barbara Sunshine bar Barbara’s full name is Barbara Sunshine and she is pink, joyous, happy and the only GAY bar in Iceland. When Barbara opened there was a vision her owners wanted her to live up to, you are greeted with a smile and you should feel right at home in the welcoming atmosphere, here you can be who you are. The crowd is mostly gay and lesbian but like any gay bar it is becoming more and more popular with everyone who just loves to dance. At Barbara the music is always good, queer and thumping ‘til 5 in the morning on Fridays and Saturdays. There are no laws against dancing on tables, singing at the top of your lungs and taking your shirt off. Barbara is closed from Sunday – Wednesday and on Thursdays there are pub quizzes, cabarets, karaoke or just hanging out
