(Updated)–The California Supreme Court upheld Proposition 8, the ballot measure that enshrined a ban on same-sex marriage in the state constitution. Now begins the hard work of changing the hearts and minds of voters, one-by-one. Here’s a glimpse of that massive campaign, starting right now with rallies across the nation.

The most massive is Day of Decision, which has organized Tuesday evening events in 96 cities, with nearly 50 in California alone, according to lead organizer Robin Tyler.

Marriage Equality New York is gathering thousands Tuesday at 6pm in Sheridan Square in the West Village, birthplace of the modern gay rights movement.

One of the most compelling, Meet in the Middle 4 Equality, draws LGBT equality supporters this Saturday to Fresno, the geographic center of California where conservative voters last November went to the polls in droves to enshrine opposition to same-sex marriage in the state constitution.
