For all you mid-century architecture and design heads out there, Modernism Week is the event for you. Greater Palm Springs is known for having the most well-preserved collection of modernist houses and structures in America.

Starting in 2006 as a complement to other events celebrating the period, Modernism Week has since grown and takes place several weeks throughout the year. Now a dedicated nonprofit, Modernism Week is responsible both for preserving and educating the world about Palm Springs’s glamorous architecture, landscaping, design, and culture.

You can rest assured that they know their stuff – in 2009 Modernism Week received the blessing of Michelle Obama when she welcomed Palm Springs to the official White House list of Preserve America Communities.
