White Party Palm Springs has gained a reputation over the past 30 years as the world’s largest and most iconic gay weekend. After two years of waiting it out, Chris Diamond, the new Executive Director of White Party Global, is thrilled to bring White Party back to Palm Springs in 2022.
It’s all going down in the desert, April 29 – May 1, 2022. Like Burning Man, but considerably gayer.

In light of the global pandemic, it’s safe to say that partying in large groups looks a lot different these days, and professional nightlife promotor Chris Diamond is not blind to that. GayCities had the chance to catch up with Diamond. He shares with us his COVID woes, how to get ready for this year’s White Party, and his hopes for the future post-pandemic.

Diamond shares, “I am so excited for 2022 to get life moving again. And of course, after two years of no White Party, I could not be more excited and honored to continue the legacy of White Party Palms Springs for my friend Jeffrey Sanker.”
Diamond has built a career in the gay nightlife scene, working alongside former WPG Director Jeffery Sanker to bring circuit parties to the forefront. They have helped transform Palm Springs into the gay mecca it is today. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, this decadent, community-building event took a brief hiatus, bringing big changes to this professional partier’s life
“Life has changed for everyone, but it’s not that people don’t want to go out and do the same things they used to do. COVID closures kept people from going out. These protocols were aimed at keeping people safe”“I have found myself staying at home, spending time with friends in much smaller groups. I think twice about going out to big crowds, and certainly, it has affected my business. Now I am in the same situation a lot of people are, and we have to start fresh and build it back up. I am fully vaccinated and I had COVID early on and now I go out and try to be careful, but I believe we all need to keep living.”
“I believe gay spaces will come back stronger than ever.” People still want to be around other people and want to go out and socialize. It’s just a matter of time to get through this pandemic.”
