It’s almost that time of year again: Halloween! (Also known as the gay Christmas.)
It’s a well-established fact that the gays own Halloween. And there’s no better place to celebrate it than in one of the oldest and most haunted cities in America: New Orleans.
For 35 years, Halloween New Orleans (HNO) has been raising money for Project Lazarus, an assisted-living home for people living with HIV/AIDS in New Orleans. The bewitching weekend-long fundraiser draws thousands of revelers from around the country and includes a black tie silent auction, wine raffle, circuit party, costume contest, Sunday Tea dance, and walking parade down Bourbon Street.
This year’s theme is “Hallowdays” and will be held October 25-27. HNO just released the trailer for the event and it features a spooky Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and leprechaun as well as some creepy doll-thing dressed in thigh high stockings and covered in blood. We’re totally getting American Horror Story/Michael Jackson’s Thriller vibes from it.
Watch.
