I've been going to Bayou for years now and love it. It's the only bar in the gayborhood that has a full kitchen/menu for happy hour (ask for Thom) and then becomes a dance bar at night. They do different music and specials every day/night, so it all depends on what you like. Certainly, 50 cent fridays gets way crazy. Saturday nights are more me....the DJ spins all video and the staff really is cool. I see a mix of everybody there. BTW, I noticed they just put in a stripper pole - hot damn!

If you're a fan of the mature male leather/levi/masculine scene, the Eagle is the place. They're only a Sunday party, but an insider has told me that the perm location is in the works - I'm glad because I gave up on the Ripcord years ago. Eagle is in the basement of an old building (Magnolia Ballroom)....it's very dark and very very cruisey. Djs there play a mix of all the disco standards and great high energy current music. I'm there every week.
