Local artist puts a whimsical twist on themes of isolation

The latest exhibition by artist Allison Roberts, titled "It wasn’t me," asks people to view feelings of isolation as not only normal but inspirational. The show’s opening is Wednesday, Nov. 12th from 6 to 8 p.m. at MuCCC, 142 Atlantic Ave. Rochester, NY, 14607, where it continues on view through Nov. 28.
In "It wasn’t me," Roberts explores themes of isolation and the redemptive power of nature through her ethereal, often whimsical work. The exhibit features pen illustrations, acrylic paintings, and poetry by the artist. In all, the exhibit features 16 pieces designed to tell the story of isolation and nature.
Roberts' show will coincide with the Shakespeare Players' King Lear, appearing at MuCCC Nov. 7 through 22.
