Here are the events that are canceled, postponed, or still happening during the coronavirus outbreak

As the coronavirus epidemic of 2020 continues to do its dirty work around the world, events are getting canceled or postponed in the hopes that fewer crowds (and less travel) will fight back against the spread of people getting sick. Coachella is usually produced each April, near Palm Springs, Calif., but it has been rescheduled for October 2020. DragCon LA was scheduled for the beginning of May 2020, but it has been canceled and will not be rescheduled for this year. What a loss of Valentina’s fans, who would have enjoyed wearing her trademark face mask in the name of public health.

But most events are still scheduled to move forward.  Here is a list, which we will update as we get information, of the biggest parties and festivals that are scheduled for through April. That should see the end of the coronavirus drama.

Let’s all hope that we won’t regret publishing that previous sentence. Okay here we go:

Atlantis Southern Caribbean Cruise (CANCELED)

Mammoth Gay Ski Week (CANCELED)

Said the organizers: “because of health department recommendations and official word from Mammoth Mountain not allowing official gatherings of more than 250 people, it is time to [cancel]”

Miami Beach Pride (POSTPONED)

This event has been cancelled, at the request of City Hall. No rescheduled dates have been announced.

This event was canceled by event organizers. Hopefully it will happen later in the year.

The Dinah Shore Week (CANCELED)

This event was ordered canceled by the Riverside County Health Dept., and has been postponed until later in the year sometime, hopefully.

Palm Springs, CA

Gay Easter Parade (CANCELED)

This event was canceled by the parade’s organizers. Check Ambush Magazine in New Orleans for updates, but the earliest the parade will happen will be in the summer, if it happens at all.

French Quarter, New Orleans


This event was canceled, although organizers said they will hold the event sometime in the late summer, if possible.

Tropicana Las Vegas – a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Resort, 3801 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV


This event has been rescheduled for Oct. 1-5, 2020.

Washington DC

Cleveland Leather Annual Weekend (CONSIDERING POSTPONEMENT)

This event was canceled by the Governor of Ohio, who has prohibited all events with more than 100 people. Organizers are looking at options to reschedule.

Fort Lauderdale Pride of Americas (POSTPONED)

This event has been cancelled, but will tentatively happen sometime in the fall.

Tokyo Pride will announce on March 25 whether the event will go ahead.

Phoenix Pride

“At this time, based on consultation with our partners at the City of Phoenix and in the public health sector, the 40th Annual Phoenix Pride Festival and Parade will continue as planned”


European Gay Ski Week

This event is still scheduled to proceed, although as of 3/15/2020 France’s government has ordered restaurants and shops to close temporarily.
