PHOTOS: Juanita MORE’s epic Pride party brings loads of love to San Francisco

For decades, Juanita MORE’s glamorous drag personality has reigned supreme in the foggy city. Gaining recognition in the queer kingdom throughout the bay area, she was recently elected Empress of the Imperial Council of San Francisco, giving her the kind of royal title she deserves.

So, what’s a queen like Juanita MORE to do when Pride weekend hits the Bay? Throw an epic party, of course!

SF Pride weekend started on Friday with the Trans March near Civic Center. Revelers revved their engines at Dolores Park for San Francisco’s Dyke March on Saturday. Though the main event, the Pride Parade, took place on Sunday, beginning on the Embarcadero and marching up Market Street. The parade ended at a concert stage in Civic Center, featuring speakers like “Jeopardy!” champion Amy Schneider and live music.

Smaller stages and booths popped up along the Parade footprint featuring local queer artists, including a bondage and circus performance stage hosted by the SF Bay Area Leather Alliance.

Though for many San Franciscans, Juanita MORE’s annual Pride parties are the actual “main” event.

Attendees flocked to the spacious, stylish outdoor patio of 620 Jones, a short walk from San Francisco’s People’s March, for a lively event full of live entertainment, good vibes, and loads of love.

Proceeds from Juanita MORE’s Pride Party benefited the Q Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to prevent homelessness for the LGBTQ and HIV communities of San Francisco.

After two years of COVID-conscious celebrations, this crowd was ready for a wild party.

Even Juanita MORE herself got some action.

The San Francisco Sisters made an appearance, among other local drag celebrities.
