We posted a collection of gorgeous people celebrating Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro, but there is more to Brazil. São Paulo is the biggest city in Brazil, and in all of South America, and their Carnaval is also a massive event.
Camila Prins made history in 2020, for being the first trans woman to lead a procession through the sambódromo at Carnaval in São Paulo.

During Carnavale, São Paulo—often called Sampa by locals—is mobbed by thousands of people who dance at the “blocos,” or blocks, huge street parties with different themes. Trucks roll down the street, carrying a DJ and people dancing, and the crowd follows until everyone eventually stops and keeps the party going. Parties have different themes; bloco Madonna Tá Aqui encouraged people to dress up as Madonna, although it was mostly a generally gay crowd. Blocu Bloco caused some scandal in 2019, when news reports showed a man urinated upon another man—both men were willing participants—leading to Brazil’s famously grouchy President Bolsonaro tweeting, “What is a golden shower?” Good times.
Here are some pics of the beautiful people of São Paulo during the season of Carnaval. First, check out the crowd at Bloco Agrada Gregos, just one of the many parties happening around the city:
