The Naked Man: Dimensions of Masculinity since 1800 is currently on display at Mexico City‘s National Museum of Art. The exhibition, a collaboration with the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, is composed to reflect on the theme of male nudity over the past two centuries.
Agustin Arteaga, who curated the exhibition, worked to provide an opportunity to show the historical development of the nude as an artistic subject: from the classical figure through the subversive twentieth century. Selections from the show includes artwork by Henri Camille Danger, Ann Louis Girodet, Pierre et Gilles and Duane Michals.
