Fire Island Ascension (August 15-17)

Party (like a rockstar) for charity on this infamous daytime beach party turned epic weekend of fun. Ascension and the Pines Party are two of the biggest party weekends in the Fire Island Pines, and everyone gets into the fun. DJs like Hector Fonseca, Theresa, Jonathan Peters, DJ Pornstar, and the Perry Twins set the pace of the long weekend of pool, beach, and underwear parties to write home about.

Special guest performances by artists Alexis Jordan, Dragonette, and Crystal Waters spice up the weekend and keep you dancing to the next pool party. Have enough of the beach? Head to the newly improved Sip N’ Twirl for DJ Lina’s magic and throwback.

Southern Decadence (August 17-September 1)

Skip Mardi Gras, Southern Decadence is the hottest party in New Orleans. Southern Decadence was first held in 1972 when a group of friends threw a “Southern Decadence Party: Come As Your Favorite Southern Decadent”, with impersonations all over the table. Each year boasts different theme, ranging from “Voodoo That You Do, Menage a Trois, and HURRICANE: This Year, They Blow Back.” The 42nd Official Southern Decadence will take place over Labor Day Weekend this year, and there is plenty to share. Book a room close to the French Quarter as the gays storm Bourbon Street and take no mercy.  The main event will kick off in the French Quarter at 2pm on Sunday, August 31.

Daddies, Pigs, and Leather Queens to the Bay. This year’s Folsom Street Fair will take place on Folsom Street from 7th to 12th Streets on Sunday, September 21. The world’s largest leather event attracts people of all shapes and sizes decked out in the most creative and outrageous leather/rubber/fetish attire imaginable.

Over 450,000 people come out for not only the main event, but a week of outlandish and extraordinary events during San Francisco Leather Week, a seven-day celebration of all things leather and kink. Last year Jonathan Groff and the cast of HBO’s Looking stepped into the crowd to film part of an episode. Who knows who you might rub (leather) cuffs with this year…
