    Host Hotel for GayWhistler's WinterPRIDE

Renovated only a few years ago, Aava has a contemporary mountain feel. Located in the main village, right across the street from the Whistler Conference Centre, it's about a 5 minute walk from the gondolas, and even shorter walk to the majority of the WinterPRIDE event venues. Aava Whistler is what I would call an "Adventure Hotel". They really embrace the mountain culture and are super gay positive. By summer they are the #BikeFriendlyist. By winter the #SkiFriendlyist. Included in your stay is complimentary access to lockers to store your ski/board equipment. Right beside the front door, both inside and outside, there are stairs leading down to the ski locker area. While most hotels in Whistler offer some sort of ski valet, at Aava they get that you don't necessarily want someone else touching your gear. You want fast access to it on YOUR schedule, 24-hours a day. Who knows, maybe you want to go pull it out and give it a fresh coat of wax at 1am. At Aava you can do that. Better still, they give you space to do that. Set up down in the parking garage they have a couple of tables (no tools or supplies though, you need to provide those yourself) setup so that you can do your own maintenance to your equipment, even applying a hot wax (the table is covered in wax by the time WinterPRIDE rolls around). What other hotel gives you that amenity? Plus to help capture some of our adventures, the Aava provides complimentary use of their GoPro Cams (first come, first serve) so you can post to YouTube all the fun you are having! Rooms are clean, contemporarily styled, fresh, and well maintained, and include robes for getting to the pool and hot tub. Oh did we mention the outdoor pool is heated and open year-round? After a day on the slopes, go for a swim. And as host hotel for WinterPRIDE, the outdoor hot tub, with breathtaking views of the mountains, is a popular meeting spot for those in town for the festival. It's the little details that Aava has nailed, you get down to the hot tub/pool deck and realize "Oops, I'm not allowed glass on the deck." Right by the door, a large stack of plastic cups. Just inside the door from the Pool deck area there is a dry sauna for tending to those aching muscles after a day of hard activity, and beside that a gym, if you still have energy left. But it doesn't stop there. Aava REALLY gets into pride. They are WinterPRIDE host hotel, Avalanche Events Whistler Partner, Toronto Gay Ski Club Whistler Partner, and home to "Pride House", the welcome centre and festival headquarters for all things WinterPRIDE. Even if you don't stay here, you'll be visiting here.

Hands down - Best Location in Whistler

Love the location, cannot get any closer to the lifts. Love apres on the sun drenched pool deck overlooking Skiers' Plaza with their luxurious Salt Water hot tubs and swimming pool. Preferred Hotel of GayWhistler's WinterPRIDE Gay Ski Week
