Ms. C's Bar Bar/Club in Denver
***** C's is a MUST AVOID for men.

I mean REALLY! They will make it CRYSTAL CLEAR that you, as a person of male persuasion, are not welcome. Period! Don't make the same mistake I made! Another reviewer called C's an ALL WOMEN'S BAR... If you are male, you must take this very seriously.

Denver Detour Bar/Club in Denver
***** A Male Perspective.

Men, really, it's not a place you'll want to hang out at. You might hear they serve food, but go elsewhere, even to BK (better food IMHO!) then on to a bar that genuinely welcomes men. I have never been to a mostly men's bar that is as unwelcoming to women as this place seemed to be towards the few men that were in here when I visited. To the ladies that love this place and it's staff: I'm really glad you have a place where you are the majority and feel comfortable... but you really could be a bit nicer to the guys!

So this is the big "Bear" bar in Denver. And though I'm not a 'bear' by any stretch of the imagination, I went a few times... Sunday Beer bust is a treat...if not a bit too crowded...but a nice variety of men. Other times the bartenders can get a bit too busy and take longer than usual...and some aren't very friendly, but then a few of them are real pros who remember your drink with smile and funny joke. Truely a man's bar.

JR's Bar and Grill Denver Bar/Club in Denver
***** Just my 2 cents...

During my extended stay in Denver I heard this was THE PLACE TO GO on a Thursday. I don't understand. YES the place was packed with people...a very mixed men/women's crowd... One thing that completely annoyed me was that there was an inordinate number of women who were extremely loud, drunk and obnoxious....I saw at least 5 of them break glasses in their drunken stupor. The help...not great... waited at least 10 minutes in line while they talked with their friends... the guys in general seemed to be of two types... 30 something "Guppies" exuding an air more of self-importance than kindness or young "twink boy" types who like to point at other people and say "Oh look at HER!" Not THE PLACE to go unless you want to be seen in a place where everyone else wants to be seen. Pass.

What's a guy to do at night when he's staying in Denver on business for 5 weeks?? Try just about every bar in town...that's what. This place perplexed me. First off I'm not sure why the city even allows them to be open. Back where I'm from they'd be closed for safety violations... the roof seemed to be leaking in several places making the floor slick. The bar staff in general were not friendly at all...the overall theme was confusing...is it a country bar, a mainstream dance bar? It can't seem to make up it's mind. The best thing about this place is it's central location but it's not really worth it.

Compound Bar/Club in Denver
***** Best time in Denver...

Tried this place several times on my extended business in Denver and loved it. Friday night was crazy fun!! Saturday and Sunday were less busy but not less fun. The staff are fantastic and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. The dance music, lights and floor were just right...especially Friday night when DJ Zac (?) was spinning! Great mix of people of all ages, races... mostly men, but I personally prefer that. Thanks for a good time Compound!

This place just simply BITES THE BIG ONE...sorry boys but it does. Was on extended business in Denver and I went here in excess 10 of times (on my way back from downtown to my hotel in the Stapleton area)..each time the experience was less sublime and more riduculous or both and worse. First off, it's very cliquey (sp?) They all know each other...and the problem with that is it seemed the place would better be suited as an retirement home for gossipy old women...all they seem to do is bitch and moan about each others business. Sad. Then there's the drugs and burnouts...yep...this seems to be the place to be for a gutter queen. Third...the help!!! I met 4 bartenders there, one was actually a pro (Hi "D"!)... the others seemed more worried about comping free drinks to their buddies first, or taking 10 minutes to figure out a credit card tab and ignoring you, a cash paying customer with exact change w/tip each and every time. I mean how difficult is it to serve a tall Bud-Lite? Go here at your own risk. I've had much better times at the Airport smoking lounge in Phoenix! Go elsewhere even if you have to pay a cab $20 extra dollars. I met a couple guys from the neighborhood one night who seemed really cool...but they admitted the only reason they go there is because it's within walking distance. Otherwise they didn't seem too happy.
