A great bit of old world...

My partner and I stayed here for a week while visiting my family in Dallas. The staff at the Melrose was exceptional! All we had to do was ask in it happened. To be fair you get what you pay for and we were willing to pay. Over all the hotel was clean an nicely appointed. However, it needs a bit of a revamp ( some of the furniture could be replaced), but not so much as to take away from the old world feel of the place. If you want a hotel close to the Oaklawn action this is the place.
