“Going Down in LA-LA Land” at OUTFest: Queerty’s itty bitty review, & Matthew Ludwinski’s Adam$Adam (NSFW)

Most recently screened at OUTFest 2011, the best thing going for “Going Down in LA-LA Land” is model-turn-actor Matthew Ludwinski as Adam a … model-turn-(porn) actor. Wide-eyed and lovely, Ludwinski’s Adam quickly spiral from talent agency receptionist (over seen by tart tongued, Jesse Archer, in a brief, yet hilarious turn) to porn actor/escort and tabloid fodder is an all too familiar tale.

The cast is rounded out with a speed smoking boyfriend (played by director, Casper Andreas, who’s extreme thinness makes him look like a male Karen Carpenter on the Marlboro 100 Tina diet, Alison Lane (as the requisite hilarious-yet-deluded BFF, the 2011 version featuring a face rendered immobile by apparent overuse of Botox), Judy Tenuta (as herself ie., oh, yeah whatever happened to that 80’s star?) and Bruce Vilanch (as … Bruce Vilanch.) However, the most unexpected turn is provided by a Si Newhouse (of the Advance Magazine Empire that publishes everything from Vanity Fair to Vogue) look-a-like as a bitchy, pursed lipped trick. Basically, a commercial for coming to L.A. and becoming a crack addict, whore, and/or crack whore. That’s Entertainment!
