NO MY FIRST NAME AIN'T BABY...

this bar has a little bit of everything. Cute go-go boys, different rooms to dance and a patio. The drinks are pretty strong from what i remember. That upstairs dance floor was a touchy feely free for all though lol. good times.

this place is big as all hell

Great place to party when your in the city... Can be kind of cliquey but hey what gay club isn't. Over priced but one of the reasons i love atlanta is the variety of clubs catered to the black gay male. This one is no exception. i still have memories of the OLD traxx and it's thugged out tuesdays... good lawd :)

    Good bar...

Great place to start your night. I spent about 4 hours there on a Sunday the last time i was in Chicago drinking and watching the foot traffic. It was memorial day weekend and the streets were packed. Pretty cool staff, loved the showtunes and the slushy drinks were delish..

    that back court...

The back patio is awesome! i happened to fall into this place once and had a blast with some close friends. Ended up here on Christmas or Thanksgiving (can't remember which one) and had a good time.

Great place to get drunkity drunk drunk

i live around the corner from this place so i have walked here a couple times to get a drink. Patrons can be a little drunk and friendly sometimes and it can have a cold feel to it as well, Overall it's a great place to go get a drink with a VERY normal crowd.

    i visited once..

me and two friends of mine went to this bar on a random friday evening. Im not opposed to a bar off the beaten path so i wasn't scared of the neighborhood. It isn't that bad over there.. it's Merion Village. Not that many people there. would have been fine minus the racial remarks we kept hearing from the patrons on the other end of the bar once we mentioned listening to the jukebox. I sure this place serves it's clientele just fine

    It's Axis

You can't hate axis. It's apart of the High St scene. I LOVE the summer weekends from about 11:30 till 3:00 when the gays are parading up and down high street cutting up into that little alleyway or coming across the street from Union to go party at axis. It's a scene that makes you very happy to live in Columbus. a city where we actually HAVE an area to be ourselves in. Not many places can match that. The only other place where gay ghettos are that concentrated and THAT visible are in the larger cities (Ny,LA,Chicago) Anyway.. Axis is cool. I used to frequent this place A LOT back in the day. The energy in this place can't be matched anywhere in Ohio IMO. It can be a little bitchy at times but that kinda adds to the fun. Now that the GAGA era has hit when i do go i see the kids in costume (angel wings, big glasses, pointy clothing) dancing the night away with glow sticks, bubble blowers and whistles which i think it some sort of gay awesome! I can't not like this place. It's a part of Columbus as much as Donatos pizza.

    Woohoo for level...

I really like this place. The staff is so friendly considering the decor. The food is delicious and not overpriced! Anyone that thinks the menu is overpriced should walk down the street to U and then compare and contrast quality/price. Level wins. I ventured into level on a Tuesday night and walked into the 614locals night. All the tables were moved in the main dining area to make a dance floor, lights dimmed and a mix of urban/house/techno music blaring along with a mix of black, white, straight, gay hipsters to match. My friend and I gave each other a collective "wtf?" look, ordered cocktails and stayed till close. Needless to say we went back every tuesday for about 2 months straight. Level offers something that columbus needed, a non cliche approach to the ultra lounge. Even the straight bars in this city don't have the genuine feel that level has. Thank you for this :) i hear they are opening a patio?
