This is a surprisingly lousy club
I am 47 and lesbian and I was in town visiting my daughter who has an anxiety disorder. I took some balloon animals to Sue's and gave them a way as an ice breaker for my daughter. It is a great way to make friends. I am a director of a non-profit and had several people ask if I did parties and I said no, I did non-profit work, but was doing it for fun. I did have two people buy e a drink because I made so many of them and they were having fun. I left Sue's and decided to check out this bar, station 4. I wanted to see how much it had changed since it was the village station. I went to the front desk and they said they had to search my bag. I showed them it was just balloons. They said I could not take the bag in, so I decided to take it to the car and told my daughter lets go. When I walked out this man called me over and said he "owned" the block and to get off the street. I thought he was crazy but it is not in my personality to be confrontational, so I said ok, but also said, I was not trying to bother anyone, just spending time with my kid. He started demanding I leave. We left and went to some place called hunky's and had a sandwich. When I left Hunky's I suggested we go back to SUe's/ When I got there, the man had told them that I could not come in. Now I swear to God I never argued with this guy or even really knew what was up. So I asked them if I had bothered any one they said no and in fact my "free" balloons had been fun, but the "block manager" had said I was not allowed. Anyway, I was idiot enough to think there was a misunderstanding and asked to speak with the manager. After several minutes, the block manager came out and started ripping through us on the street. HE asked if we were drunk, which I am not much of a drinker, so looked at him. I tried twice to explain that we were not selling the balloon but just having fun and I would put them in the car, but he was so busy being a complete hateful man, that I could not even speak. Needless to say I simply left. On the way to my car he had security follow us, three of them, and was rude. So, I looked at him, ased his name "Donald" and told him I would blog this and that he was a true prick for unknown reasons. Girls and boys, beware. This guy is nuts and likes to be a bully. Have I been drinking? Nope, I had one. Did I argue? Nope, never got a word in edgewise. Was I rude or combative, nope. Was he unnecessary, yes. This is a man who should not manage a place of business. He could have simply asked me to not make my balloons and I would have paid my 7 dollars cover and been fine. He did say one thing though, "Lady, Go find a church where they will appreciate your fing ballons." Seriously?
