    Don't expect any 'new' connections

Club Café has one thing going for it: lots of cute, young guys. Unfortunately, it has a lot of negatives: Those same cute guys would watch you choke on a martini olive rather than help give a helping hand. It's primarily a South End crowd and believe me they are in their own antiseptic world. It's obvious most are there to 'meet' someone, but no one says Hi out of an unfounded fear of rejection. The majority are there with friends, and branching out of that circle (clique) rarely happens. The drinks are good, the music can be great, but the attitude is so pervasive it's almost sad. Life is hard enough and we'd all do well to remember that.

    What a great place!

If you're looking for a bar that isn't full of attitude and fabulous Tuesday nights when they play music videos (showtunes, movie musical clips, etc...), this is it. The bartenders are nice, and the people, most of them local Dot boys, are very friendly and polite. They also serve dinner, which tastes great albeit pricey. From twinks to twilighters, it runs the gamut of all ages. Drinks are great, you can run a tab, and the only thing missing is a piano. :) Great starting off point if you're going out later to dance.

This is NOT a gay bar

underbar isn't a gay bar and should not be listed under gay bars in boston. Sure, gay people pop in and out, but this place caters to straight 20-somethings. Put this club in the dustbin of wannabe gay bars and find something else. If it is gay only one night a week, which I haven't noticed, you shouldn't even patronize them. Places like this milk the gay community one night a week with outrageous drink prices and cover charges. Just because they 'use' us, doesn't mean we should use them!
