Excellent Southern soul food featuing succulant smoked meats. Pit Master, Ed Mitchell, beat Bobby Flay in a Food Network "Throw-down" for ribs. The ribs at the Pit are the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is very inviting and much more upscale than you expect from a Southern barbecue restaurant.
I Don't Get It...
This is one of those local traditions that I just don't get. The burgers and fries are average at best. They have a very convoluted ticketing system where you have to mark down your order on a slip of paper and stick it through a slot. It's all very unfriendly and very impersonal. Last time I got so frustrated trying to fill out the ticket that I just left and went around the corner to McDonald's.
