Elegant lunch at a national landmark.

One of the greatest places in DC for lunch. Beaux Art styling in a national recognized landmark. A menu of cajun, creole, and southern. Fried green tomatoes, and Jambalya, to collard greens and meatloaf. Friendly wait staff, a little bit of a wait lunch, but worth the wait. If you love southern food or would like to expand your culinary expertise, give this unique place a try.

Low Country cuisine at its best.

One of the best low country cooking restaurants around. Easy to find and self parking not bad for DC. Very attentive and friendly wait staff. Almost like being greeted by an old friend. From the mini cornbread muffins to the collard greens a great meal. A generous varied menu that would certainly please the most picky lover of southern cooking. Try the bread pudding, a unique variation.

Great Place for Lunch and Dinner

This one of a kind cafe/bistro is slightly secluded off of Preston Road in North Dallas. A unique menu served by an attentive wait staff in a sleek modern atmosphere makes this a place for a relaxing or power lunch. The menu is unique with ample portions. For a unique lunch try the chicken salad, a blend of chicken, spices, and fruit.

    Beer for Breakfast

Slightly bigger than a hole in the wall, Barbec's in East Dallas, on Garland Road puts all suggestions of dress code away. If you cycle, run, jog, or walk, near or around White Rock Lake, then plan to stop for the best breakfast in Dallas. A full menu is available, but try their beer batter biscuits, gravy, eggs, and crisp bacon. Bring cash because they don't do credit cards.

North of Dallas, but worth the drive

Okay, so it's a good 20 minutes north of Dallas on Interstate 35 in Carrollton. But if you like casual, rustic, and a chance to dance the hokey pokey, then Babe's is the place. Fried chicken, chicken fried steak, smoked chicken, fried catfish and pot roast served in abundance family style along with salad and vegetables. Grab your husband and four friends and have a fun dinner.

Great surprise on the Boardwalk Venice, California

Attended an evening meeting on the Boardwalk. Upon a recommendation, walked to the Figtree's Cafe and Grill. Great place to people watch and feel the ocean breeze. A menu that seemed more healthy than most cafes served by an attentive wait staff. The surprise was the Caesar side salad whose dressing seemed to be made fresh and not from a bottle. Give it a try and enjoy the eye candy.

    Great hotel

More than a room, a mini-suite, comfortable, quiet, and very clean. Room service was quick and good. The staff was not only good looking but took care of problems with delayed luggage from the airline. Close to boys, food, and nightlife. Even the price seems good for California accomodations. Give it a try your next trip to LA.

    Great steaks in Dallas

A rustic Texas steakhouse serving mesquite broiled steaks for 34 years. Open grill, serve yourself salad bar. Unique decor, cluttered, like eating at your neighbor's house. Excellent steaks, good wine selection and outstanding wait staff. Older monied crowd.

Well Kept Italian Secret in Dallas

The outside of Bellini's, a former lesbian bar in the middle of a strip center hides one of Dallas' best Italian restaurants. The owner-manager greats each guest and oversees a friendly efficient wait staff. The bread and oil is unique, entrees are excellent, and ample at a reasonable price for Dallas.

Casual outdoor dining and gourmet take out

Wonderful salads made to order, and unique sandwiches. Gourmet take out and fresh flowers for your table. I have used their catering service, a little pricy but outstanding food. Crowd is mixed but mainly young professionals.
