It's a nice beach. It's just down the shore from the Ipanema beach which is very loud and gay. This beach is quiet and the water is safer to go in because the water doesn't get deep really fast like Ipanema. Don't know why it is listed in your article about nude beaches because I have never seen any nude people there. I would definitely say go naked at your own risk because you don't want to get on the wrong side of the Policia.

It's like two different places. Upstairs is the restaurant which is non-smoking or at least I have never seen anyone smoke there. The food is good and the prices are good also. Very friendly staff. You can even get a table outside on the balcony overlooking the street. Unfortunately, you have to climb a winding staircase to get to it from the downstairs bar. The downstairs is a very smoky bar. Don't care for it.

Since there are no porn shops in Puerto Vallarta, this is a good place to get varieties of lube.

    Where the beautiful people go

Just so you know, the posts refer to the lifeguard stations which is also where there are public restrooms that are kept clean and it costs 1 Brazilian Real to use them which pays for their upkeep. They posts start in Leme north of Copacabana beach and continue south along Copacabana and then west across Ipanema and are numbered in order. Posto 9 is known as where the beautiful people go and it is true. There are a lot of gorgeous people to people watch anywhere in Brazil, but Posto 9 is exceptional. There are going to be places anywhere along Copacabana and Ipanema beaches to get drinks and foot and sit along the edge of the beach. This is a great one for the best eye-candy.

Makes me want to work out!

These clubs have the best equipment and a large staff of people to help you out. They even come check on everyone on the cardio machines every half hour to make sure their heart rate is in the right range. They also have personal trainers who will work with you one-on-one and they don't cost much. Definitely worth it to have some georgeous Brazilian eye candy attending to you! I prefer the location on Visconde de Piraj in Ipanema. If you want a gym with a pool, you have to check out their other Ipanema location on Gomes Carneiro which has a great pool.

An amazing experience not to be missed

The food is good, and the ambiance is unbelievable. Gorgeous building will knock your eyes out. It is a "must do" to have a meal at this Rio landmark restaurant.

Definitely THE place to stay your first time in Rio!

Perfect location right at the gay Farme de Amoedo beach! Within walking distance of several gay hangouts. Friendly staff speaks English which is helpful in a country that speaks Portuguese. Restaurant is okay. There are tons of other restaurants within a block or two of the hotel. If you want to bring a guest back to the hotel, they have to leave their id while they are visiting and you have to pay a fee to the hotel for them to visit you, but this is normal for most hotels in Rio. Rooms are comfortable. Be sure to have your room key with you if you are out late because the security staff will not let you back in without a room key late at night. If it is your first time in Rio, would recommend this place highly.

    Basic lodging, but fantastic atmosphere

The rooms here are small and basic, but the hotel has a lot to offer otherwise. The daily breakfast is always really good and is included in the price of the room. Guests and locals socialize by the pool during happy hour and afterwards and it is a fantastic place to meet other people and get a chance to really talk with them. During my stay there I met several people who I have remained friends with and will see again. Fantastic staff is very friendly. Fantastic location. Computer station with printer allows you to leave your laptop at home. Would recommend.

    Great value, feels like home

Perfect location, one block from beach and near everything. Super-friendly helpful staff make you feel at home. The restaurant is very good. Be sure to ask for an ocean view. I think the beds are smaller than in the mountain view rooms, but the ocean view is amazing. Would definitely recommend.
