Final review of my stay
Similar experience to another poster, that patrons were standoff-ish and unwilling to engage in conversation. Overall it describes my experience at many Pittsburgh bars. Even though I was only in this city for 11 days, I never encountered a dynamic such as this. While most cities welcome a new face, locals here hold a guard up. I'm an outgoing, attractive guy and the experience would make me begin to question myself if it were not for a few other visitors I met who were given the same impression. I hope I never have to return here or rather, hope that locals could learn the value of friendliness towards others.
O.K.
Came here with another worker since it was close to the hotel. I was told that a lot of people in my age group go here and they do ........ along with an attitude. Bartender wore out his vocal cords conversing with his regulars that he couldn't talk when he took our order. Music was good and drinks were alright. Overall ok if you go with someone you already know.
Wrong crowd for me
The interior is typical of a bar that hasn't upgraded since they opened their doors. Drinks are worth the price however the bartender didn't seem to like his job much. Crowd was not the greatest and verbal assaults between patrons did make for an entertaining experience. One man offered me money to keep him "company" at which point I decided it was time to go elsewhere.
A great change from the other bars
This was the nicer bar that I found during my stay. Very clean and up-to-date compared to others. Staff is friendly but very busy. Met a few other visitors while here, which made for great conversation and dinner companions. Local patrons kept to themselves but didn't seem as unhappy as in most local establishments.
