RUDE!

The best thing going for this closet is the patio. It is bigger than the inside. The bartender in the photo doesn't even work there (he works at another gay bar). This is mostly a lesbian bar, which is cool but in this day and age we don't need so much segregation or stares when a guy walks in. It's almost like you walked in on your mom in the shower if a guy comes in here. Not a friendly place at all unless maybe you are the owner's current lady friend.

I agree with a couple reviews posted here. The bar staff is WAY TOO YOUNG to know what running a business is all about. They seem to care more about primping, playing and cruising to find their next trick for the night. From what I hear, the owner even got caught doing the nasty in the kitchen during business hours! I didn't order food after I heard that! Rain may be the newest gay bar in town but I wouldn't say it is the best by far. Hell, it doesn't seem like a gay bar at all. There's a bunch of straight girls running around and walk-in's from other bars in the area, so you never know what you will get. The drinks are way too expensive. Oh, and by the way, if you are going to refer to your bar as a dance club, please have an area bigger than 10x10 to dance on. Also please tell your bar staff they aren't as cute as they think they are.

I don't like large bars because I prefer to mingle meaningfully and hear the people I talk to, so I was going to J's for a while after trying Rain (way to much hype about this place, expensive and no performance) and The Store (mostly women and RUDE). One of the owners (old guy with grey hair) was so terrible rude to our group! He seemed not able to be bothered to wait on us because he was busy with his clique. We were a group of 6 people and there wasn't even a table we could all sit at together, but that was the least of our worries, though we did get yelled at for moving a table to accommodate us all. We all had 2 drinks (on my credit card bill), so that makes 12, right? When I went to sign my receipt it was $90.00 and very obviously padded! I had heard this about J's before but didn't pay attention. I should have! When I complained and asked to see the written bill the owner said I was disrupting his business and asked me to keep my voice down, sign my bill and leave! BEWARE, if you go there, ask prices and keep your own bill so you have a leg to stand on and don't use a credit card!!!
