Grifters
watch your money. New Orleans is filled with griifters. e-mail if you want more. otherwise, be on your guardl
Great pool in the summer
Get there early to get a lounge chair where you can cruise the boys and men best!
Best Piano Bar
If you like to sing-a-long, then don't miss Tavern on Camac, where everyone is friendly!
Rosario's NO LONGER Hip and Happening
UPDATE: RECENT RENOVATION HAS RENDERED THE INTERIOR OUTDATED. THIS IS NO LONGER THE HOT TRENDY PLACE IT WAS BEFORE. Although the bands can get a bit loud on Friday and Saturday nights, this is a great place to hang out with gay and straight friends. My boyfriend and I go there often, and there are always other gay couples there. The waiters are HOT! too. I like the chicken enchilada in mole sauce... and a margarita, of course!
New location, same great food!
Loved the old place, although it was in a neighborhood that appeared rough. The new neighborhood is King William! Hot neighborhood, fantastic food, in a former convent!!!
Newest Bar in Town!
This is not your typical San Antonio bar. A mix between a sports bar and English pub, Sparky's is unique for its well lit atmosphere and non-smoking policy (a first in San Antonio gay bars that needs to catch on!) This is a place not to be missed!
THE place to hang out or grab a bite
If you are hungry before or after the gay bars along North Main Street, then head over to Luther's Cafe for a quick bite. Try the sweet potato fries (ask for ranch dressing, mmmm). I order the margarita, which is served in a martini glass and comes with the metal shaker (enough for several more margaritas!)
Great Sunday brunch...
This place is off the beaten path, but well worth the time to find it. For Sunday brunch, you order at the bar, and then choose a table where your brunch will be served. Try the bottomless Mimosa!
If Leather is your thing...
... this is currently the closest you'll come to an Eagle-like bar in San Antonio. Everyone is friendly, even if you aren't in leather/levi/fetish wear. In fact, there is no strict dress code, so you will see shorts, sandals, women, etc. Only drawback is there is no outside patio, so if you are from a city that bans smoking in bars, you will quickly learn that San Antonio does not have that restriction.
