Northalsted Market Days is one of the biggest parties every year in Chicago, when 100,000 people drink and dance in the streets of Boystown. What makes this outdoor festival special? Here are our top 5 reasons for why you should head to Chicago and join the fun.

  1. Northalsted Market Days started in the 1980’s as an arts and crafts fair, to promote merchants in the Boystown neighborhood. As the festival grew in popularity, bars and restaurants in the area joined the party and now the event is a big celebration of Boystown culture.
  2. All ages are welcome, but Market Days gets busy and stretches into the evening hours, when people end up at their favorite Boystown bars.
  3. Five stages will keep the party going throughout the days and into the nights with a great lineup of shows, including world-famous DJs like Joe Gathreaux and Nina Flowers, music legends Sheila E. and Jake Shears, and Chicago-area native Steve Grand.
  4. This is Chicago, and if there’s anything that Chicago natives love, it’s eating delicious food and drinking beer on a sunny day. Both will be in plentiful supply in the tents and food trucks around Market Days.
  5. Chicago in August can be hot, so be prepared for people to be showing lots of skin.

The deets: Northalsted Market Days 2019 is scheduled for Aug. 10 and 11, on Halsted St. between Belmont to Addison. A donation of $10 is suggested for admission.
