Out gay actor and singer, Luke Evans, 42, is never shy of posting the occasional thirst trap. One of his latest comes from Colombia. The Welsh-born performer is in the country to film his new show, Echo 3. However, going by his Instagram, he also spent a few days of downtime relaxing at a luxury resort on one of the Islas Del Rosario.

Another posting showed the roots of a tree that had spookily grown through a discarded sneaker, while on his Instagram stories, he posted a video of encountering a small scorpion in his bathroom (yikes!).
Another pic identified his precise location as Enai Del Mar Island.
Evans, 42, appeared in The Hobbit, Midway, and Beauty & The Beast. For TV, he’s appeared in The Alienist and recent Amazon show, Nine Perfect Strangers. He’s also begun work, alongside Josh Gad, on a Beauty & The Beast spin-off, about his character, Gaston.
Apple TV is making Echo 3. Deadline says the series, “is set in South America and follows Amber Chesborough, a brilliant young scientist, who is the emotional center of a small American family. When she goes missing along the Colombia-Venezuela border, her brother and her husband — two men with deep military experience and complicated pasts — struggle to find her in a layered, personal drama, set against the explosive backdrop of a secret war.”
Evans plays the character of Bambi, Amber’s brother.

Gay Colombia and increase in tourism
Colombia formerly had a reputation as one of the more dangerous countries in South America due to organized crime. However, it has changed greatly in the last 15-20 years and has become more tourist-friendly.
In 2018, Colombia recorded 4.3 million inbound visitors, a growth of 7.7% compared to 2017. The vast majority of those tourists come from the United States, followed by Venezuela and Argentina.

The country has also earned a reputation as one of the most gay-friendly in South America. It has an equal age of consent of 14, LGBTQ anti-discrimination protections enshrined in law, same-sex marriage, and gay adoption. Beyond this, gay guys can donate blood and trans people can legally change their gender without having to go through a psychiatric evaluation.
One recent ranking placed it at number 24 in a list of the safest countries for LGBTQ+ people in the world, just four places beneath the United States.

Theatron is the biggest gay club in Latin America. Built-in an old movie theater, this nightclub complex has 13 different dance floors. Founded in 2002, it’s located in the central part of Chapigay, the gay neighborhood of Chapinero District. Bogota is the capital of Colombia and attracts more tourists than anywhere else in the country.

It’s difficult to miss Bar Chiquita (Via Primavera, El Poblado, Carrera 37 # 8 a – 88, Medellin) thanks to the large yellow flamingoes standing outside! The animal theme continues inside with leopard-print walls. It’s just one element of the camp decor. The venue, which includes a cute terrace area, is both a coffee shop and bar, with regular drag shows.
