Ever since May when the California Supreme Court decided to allow gay marriages, we gays & lesbians have been traveling to California to get married.
Anti-marriage activists are pushing a November ballot measure–Proposition 8–which would amend California’s constitution to take away the right to marry from same-sex couples. Millions of dollars has poured into the state from those who are against equal marriage. And it is working – polls show that the measure is gaining steam and could actually pass.
The No on 8 campaign is asking for donations to run advertisements (they’ve created a batch of new ones) and to help get fair-minded people to the polls.
Take a minute to donate now – what happens in California will affect us all. If they take marriage away, what’s next? And if voters vote No on 8 and show they favor equal rights, other states will follow.
