Priscilla Queen Of The Desert Landing At JFK’s Terminal 8

The dragtastic Broadway musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert is putting its wigs away for good on June 24, but weary New York travelers will get a chance to see a special performance from the show before take-off.

Tomorrow, June 21, John F. Kennedy Airport’s Terminal 8 is hosting a special Pride week performance from Priscilla, courtesy of the folks at American Airlines. At 3pm and 3:45pm, current Broadway cast members Jacqueline Arnold, Anastacia McCleskey, Ellyn Marie Marsh and Bryan West will perform hits from the musical, including “Like a Prayer,” “Diva Medley” and “We Belong.”

It’s no surprise American put the mini-revue together: It’s been courting LGBT travelers for years and has  consistently gotten top marks on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index. “We are pleased to host the cast of Priscilla as we treat customers to this special performance and celebrate Pride month,” said airline VP Tim Ahern. “We are very proud of our history of support for both LGBT customers and employees and are excited to bring this show to JFK as a fun way to celebrate this rich history.”

Hmm, maybe their slogan should be “Fly the Friendly Skies.”
