Hello gorgeous! We hear you are going to the Life Ball
The Life Ball is one of the world’s most extravagant events. It is a wonderful event that combines costume party, a modern twist to the traditional Viennese ball, front row European fashion show, masquerade ball, high quality produced concert, and charity benefitting HIV and AID research.

I caught a glimpse of this year’s style bible for the ball, Spread the Wings of Tolerance.
The Life Ball this year represents one of the earth’s elements. Air is one of life’s essential elements. As it is this year’s theme for the Life Ball, it represents life in a creative way. Taking the theme of air and having all of Life Ball’s guest create unique costumes for this event benefitting HIV and AIDS creates a magical experience. Fighting against HIV and AIDS should be a part of the official gay calendar.

If we have a little free time during the Life Ball, where should we go?
Vienna is one of the most beautiful and pristine cities in Europe. During the Life Ball Travel Experiences hosted by Steele Luxury Travel, we make sure that there is plenty of free time to enjoy the city. This includes visits to Vienna’s gorgeous government buildings, the Opera House, Parliament, coffee housesmuseums and restaurants.

There are so many amazing coffee houses and bars over there. What are some of your favorites?
I really love sitting at the Hotel Sacher and enjoying iced coffee with Sachertorte. Their take on an iced coffee is chilled coffee with heaps of fresh creamy delicious ice cream–wow. Sachetorte is a famously delicious Viennese chocolate cake layered with apricot filling. Simply delicious.

Yum! Speaking of delicious…what are Austrian men like?
Austrian men… Hmmm. Austrian men are always right, never wrong, and will never let you know you are right, even if proven wrong.

I love it.  Tell me more.
They are sexy, confident and cunning. Light eyes, light hair, boasting beautiful lean bodies.

The Life Ball is a celebrity magnet.
Many celebrities attended last year including Bill Clinton, Rebecca Romijn, Whoopi Goldberg, Kenneth Cole, Diane von Furstenberg, Francisco Costa, Lydia Hearts, Richie Rich, Patti Labelle, Jerry O’Connell, Michel and Ayako Comte, Dita Von Teese.

Any rumors about who’s coming this year?
Bill Clinton, Janet Jackson, and many others to be confirmed 😉

How did you start working in the travel industry?
While in college, I interned for Alitalia Airlines in marketing. Then I interned at Jetblue. Once I graduated from NYU, I interviewed with Alitalia for a permanent marketing position. While I worked at Alitalia, I used my flight benefits to attend every major gay circuit party and many international LGBT events around the world. Through my work at Alitalia and through my travels, I realized there was a niche in the travel industry that was undeserved.

Hey, Dane, I’ve got to ask… Does all of your traveling put a strain on your relationship?
It actually helps my relationship.

How so?
My boyfriend, Joshua, actually travels with me most of the time.  Through our travels, our relationship grows and we experience the world together. He also has the opportunity to see various types of design, art and technique around the world.

I heard someone talking about their “travel bucket list” the other day. What’s on your bucket list?
Each year I make sure to go to at least two new destinations. Coming up for me will be India, a second visit to Thailand, and more exploration through Asia. I am also very interested in experiencing luxury rail trips and more travel through Africa. The world is my oyster and I plan on cracking it continuously.
