Instagram is a hotbed of would-be travel influencers. It can be hard to sift the chafe from the grain. So, who should you follow?
At GayCities, we work with scads of influencers and know several of them. As experts in the LGBTQ+ travel space, we know you count on us to provide you with the best experiences, advice, and insider info.
We’ve rounded up the five gay and lesbian couples that you should absolutely follow on Instagram for tips, photos, videos, and fun.

Gabi Meit and Shanna Sciara are among the most popular couples on our list, with over 100,000 followers. In 2023, they were nominated in the Best of GayCities Awards’ “Dynamic Duo” category.
The couple started dating on January 27, 2016, and when they eloped, their wedding day was also on the 27th. It’s their lucky number and sparked the name of their massively popular social media accounts.

João Santos and André Nogueira are newlyweds but experienced travelers. The two Portuguese lovebirds got hitched in June and are now traveling around the globe on a year-long honeymoon.
They’re only a few months into the trip, so you’ve got plenty of time to catch up and stick around for the journey. Unlike several other influencers, they’re not beholden to publicists and hotel chain offers; they’re setting their itinerary based on what they want to see and do.

Kirstie and Christine have seen the world together, but a recent post proved they plan on doing everything together for as long as possible.
During a trip to Bora Bora, Kirstie dropped to one knee and asked Christine to be her wife. Even better, the surprise proposal was disguised as a “work trip.”

These two cuties are all over Instagram, and their funny content, both about traveling and being a gay couple, is part of the mix. They’re the only ones on the list who tend to mix humor with the standard travel fare.
Michael Lindsay and Matthew Schueller are also on the path to fatherhood and content about that is sprinkled into the mix, allowing followers to feel more connected to them than the standard travel influencer.

Danielle and Anna Parlagreco are a queer couple with bases in Rome and Miami. They met in Rome in 2015, and Danielle invited herself on a trip Anna had planned for the next week. With that auspicious start, they’ve continued to travel the world together.
Their account name comes from an inside-joke “Italianish” word. While Danielle is now fluent in Italian, she wasn’t at first. It means, “It’s okay” or “It’ll all be okay.” They had the phrase tattooed on their wrists a week later.
“Looking back at it, getting matching tattoos after just meeting each other was quite literally the most lesbian thing we’ve done to date!” they joke.

With almost 200,000 followers, Stefan and Seby are another international couple on the list. Their travels tend to be a little more exotic, and they recently released a book for LGBTQ+ travelers on how to get the most out of their own trips.
But a recent trip they took to Cyprus, a country divided between the Turks and Greeks and in almost constant turmoil, is a good example of the interesting and unusual content that they produce.
