Joyride!, the musical based on songs by the pop group Roxette, is almost sold out, and fans are clamoring for more dates as critics say it won’t be long before it comes to Broadway.
The plot is inspired by English bestselling author Jane Fallon’s romantic comedy Got You Back. It centers around a woman who discovers her husband is cheating on her. Instead of fighting, the two women join forces to get revenge on the philanderer.
The show is currently being performed at the Malmö Opera in Sweden, but with the overwhelming demand for tickets, bigger venues are sure to follow.
Still, as one critic noted, “Sweden’s third-largest city is worth the trip.”
“This will be a new Swedish musical export,” BroadwayWorld gushed.
