Spring Break isn’t just for beer-chugging bros to day-drink and chase girls in bikinis around the beach.

Bros can chase each other! These party destinations check all the boxes for a fun Spring Break: affordable hotels, great nightlife, and lots of opportunities to show off that new swimsuit while soaking in some sun.

Here are our top pics for making Spring Break 2019 great…

Miami

Find a spot at 12th St. beach to lay out your towel, and the party is all around you. Anyone on a college student budget can get cheap eats at La Sandwicherie on 14th St., and bars like Twist have drink specials. If Spring Break comes early in the season, you might be able to catch The Winter Party, on Sunday March 3, where the dance floor is right there on the beach.

Las Vegas

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas—except the memories will last forever. Hotel pools have great sunbathing opportunities, and guys in square-cut trunks will blend with the Europeans. Hotels on The Strip are close to the bars in The Fruit Loop, but there are lots of inexpensive hotels downtown that are popular with hipster locals as well. For cheap drinks, it doesn’t get any cheaper than free: Wednesdays at Charlie’s has free drinks for guys in their underwear.

Palm Springs

For fun in the sun, the desert oasis of Palm Springs is almost guaranteed to deliver. There are lots of all-male hotels with pools, where swimsuits are often optional, and the bars get busy on weekends. But Spring Break in Palm Springs is not just for the boys. The Dinah party weekend, held the first weekend of April each year, is billed as the largest all-female event of the year. Then in mid-April, hipsters of all expressions come to town for Coachella, the outdoor music megafestival held 20 miles east of Palm Springs, in Indio.

Key West

Key West has a well-established reputation as a party capital, and for good reason. The bars on Duval Street are popular with both locals and visitors on the island, and Spring Break season has traditionally been a popular season here. Island HouseEquator Resort, and New Orleans House host clothing-optional pool parties, and there are lots of kayaking, jet skiing, and snorkeling spots around the island for anyone who wants to take a break between Spring Break drinking sessions.

Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta is a beach party destination all year, but Spring Break adds a lot more parties to the social scene. Pool bars like Mantamar Beach Club starts the drinking early, but take a break and be sure to get a view of the gorgeous Puerto Vallarta sunset, before heading off to the bars in Zona Romantica.
