There are more than 50 gays bars in the city by the bay. The range for neighborhood dives such as Moby Dick to New York-style dance clubs such as Beaux Bar.
But the city also features many watering holes that played key roles in nurturing the liberation movement and in creating safe places for outcasts even among our own community.
