Out on the town: Fuerza Bruta’s Andy Pellick

boys-night12

andypheadshotBoys night at Fuerza Bruta is the hottest of events in New York today. FUERZA BRUTA: LOOK UP is a non-stop collision of dynamic music, visceral emotion and kinetic aerial imagery. Andy Pellick is one of the sexy men in the cast of ripped performers splishing and splashing in the party pool at the Daryl Roth Theater. GayCities New York editor Jeffrey James Keyes caught up with him to find out a few of the hot spots the cast of Fuerza Bruta recommend as Union Square musts.

What’re the best places near the theater to grab a bite before the show?

Republic–Great Asian noodle bar with a twist.

Great food, casual atmosphere with communal tables and speedy service.

The Coffee Shop–Upscale “diner” done well. Great food and interesting people.

Casa Mono–Unbelievable food! A personal favorite. Spanish–big flavor, lots of pork! Yum!

Where does the cast hang after a performance?

Revival Bar–Cool neighborhood bar.

Union Bar–Good cocktail lounge. Some of our crew DJ there on occasion.

If someone has an hour after picking up their tickets at the box office and before the show begins, where would you recommend they go in Union Square?

Paul Smith–A perfect shop to pick up something special. Everything from amazing clothing (fantastic socks), incredible books, good toothpaste, wallets, etc.

The Strand–One of New York’s greatest bookstores.

Grey Dog Cafe–Total new york coffee shop. Cute, quaint, delicious.

Union Square Park–It’s amazing.

Whole Foods…  It’s a staple for us.

What’s your favorite gay bar in the city?

I’m gonna say that right now i really enjoy The Hose. It has a great vibe with an interesting mix a people, and it’s relatively close to the theater. Also, Nowhere bar is pretty great for similar reasons. They’re both low-key, unpretentious, and always a good time.
