There’s no doubt that this year’s late winter storms on the West Coast were sporadic and intense. Thankfully, they left a thik blanket of new snow across California’s gorgeous mountain ranges. With all the new powder on the ground, skiers and snowboarders alike are packing up their gear and heading to their nearest resorts to shred the slopes, leaving thoughts of tough economic times at the ski lift. According to the LA Times, southern California’s Mammoth Mountain boasts “super duper” conditions for winter sports enthusiasts, which comes just in time for Elevation 2009: 7th Annual Mammoth Gay Ski Week.

From March 18 to 22, Mammoth Gay Ski Week offers apres-ski (or after-ski) socials designed to bring gay skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels together for end-of-the-day meeting and greeting, as well as big dance parties and a host of other events.
