Gogo dancer Jesse has big pride plans for you

Seattle’s a lush ocean-front city that works hard and parties harder, which means that student/gogo dancer Jesse has his work cut out for him.

His popular face (and body) graces many of the best parties in town, so GayCities asked him to let you know know the ins and outs of enjoying pride season Seattle.

What’s your pride style?

JESSE: I like to plan my outfit around my personality — something flamboyant that sparkles. I like to represent self-pride every day. This year I’m working at Queer Bar as the gogo captain, so I’ll be working with people and gogos behind the scenes to make pride exciting.

Where do you go to relax during pride?

JESSE: My favorite place is the dressing room at Queer Bar. It’s a little slice of heaven. I can take a breather, run into some wigs and have a kiki with the girls. Queer Bar looks like perfection on the outside and like any family there are imperfections on the inside that make it great.

What do you recommend at pride?

JESSE: Make sure you check out the parade. It’s great if you want something kid friendly. If you want to experience pride in Seattle, come to Capitol Hill and visit any queer bar — there’s something for everyone.

What’s the best way to celebrate?

JESSE: By remembering and being thankful for people who paved the way and allowed us to celebrate.
