7 Gay 4th of July weekend parties to keep you independancing

Bright flashes of color. Sparkles. Roasting wieners in the park. These can only mean one thing: Pride Independence weekend is here! Lose the rainbow and stick to red, white and blue as some of the hottest US cities pay homage to the founding fathers with thumping music and beach parties. Oh, say! can you see my crack in this speedo? We’ve lined up some of the best bashes from our new event guides–get in on the fun!

Provincetown: Independence Weekend — The 4th of July weekend is the busiest time in Ptown, with parties planned throughout the week. The hottest action is centered around the Crown & Anchor, as clubs Paramount and Wave welcome some of the biggest circuit DJs around.

Fire Island: USS Reflections — DJ Tracy Young and lighting wizard Guy Smith will once again electrify the crowd at one of the most memorable events in the Pines. This year’s theme celebrates the bravery of our US Navy. It’s Fleet Week in the Pines- dance off your sailor outfit or come as you are.

.

Las Vegas: Big Top Circus at Heaven — Here’s one Jefferson would have loved: a performance by Drag Race contender Ongina and a sexy fashion show by Andrew Christian. Heaven at Bare Lounge busts out all the stops for this poolside homo circus of epic proportions.

.

.

Miami: Pool Party @ the Surfcomber — Dancing at an Armin Van Buuren show is like a clubber’s rite of passage. Head down to the Surfcomber Hotel pool, and celebrate your independence at this mixed-crowd party.

.

San Francisco: Gus Presents Independance — Jamie J Sanchez will be manning the decks of this 4th of July T-Dance, but San Franciscans hardly need an excuse to dance. You can expect all the usual debauchery, and with any luck you’ll be seeing fireworks by night’s end.

.

.

San Diego: Remedy — Over at the swanky Lei Lounge in Hillcrest, Michael Mack is at it again. The sun is sure to be shining, so grab some drinks and stake your claim on the patio. Life is good!

Toronto: The Beach Ball — You’ve caught us. This isn’t a 4th of July party, and it therefore belongs nowhere in this post! Well that may be, but the glory of independence is that we’re still free to clue you in to this Toronto Pride beach party going down Saturday the 3rd at Hanlan’s Point. Consider paying our Canadian neighbors to the north a visit for this great event.
