Manchester locals refused to let a little rain and anti-gay protesters dampen their spirits as they took to the streets to celebrate Pride over the weekend.
2018’s theme “Circus of Acceptance” saw everything from topless men dressed as globes to policemen in sequin hats. Known as The Big Weekend, Manchester has been celebrating Pride for more than 25 years.
After Sunday’s parade, thousands gathered at the main stage for pop-star Rita Ora’s headlining performance. She praised attendees for making it despite the inclement weather, saying “You are champions for not giving a s–t about the rain.”
