Check out their recommendations for getting the most out of New Orleans Pride.
What makes your Pride special or different others around the globe?
New Orleans is one of the gayest places in the country, and one of the most culturally unique. Getting to have a big gay party surrounded by 300+-year-old architecture while being within walking distance to 15+ gay bars is pretty amazing.
Best spot for the parade watching?
To witness it in its full glory, try and get a spot near Bourbon and St. Ann – show up early and bring water.
Favorite hangout?
The balconies of Oz, The Pub, or Lafitte’s in Exile.
Favorite pride party/event?
Any event by DJ Brett Labauve.
Favorite Pride cocktail:
Keep it classic with a vodka soda or tequila soda.
Favorite nightlife spot?
Good Friends Bar, because it’s got a slightly more relaxed pub vibe downstairs, a fun party vibe upstairs, and an amazing balcony that looks out onto the French Quarter.
Sunday brunch
Meauxbar or Sylvain
Best cruising spots
Ha, probably your iPhone. For something more adventurous you could check out The Phoenix.
Best restaurants
Cane & Table for nice dinner and cocktails before a night out, Clover Grill for something greasy after.
Best Hotels for Pride visitors
For location? The Bourbon Orleans can’t be beaten. For your Instagram? The Catahoula. Both are extremely gay-friendly, as most places in New Orleans tend to be.
