Sexy pride guru Brogan wants to pet your pup

Logan Fletcher aka Brogan moved to New York a few years ago from Minnesota and now spends most of his days asking strangers if he can pet their dogs. The pup lover (“the gay category kind AND our four-legged friends”) is an active supporter of New York’s local drag queens and nightlife. He’s also actively raising awareness and speaking out on issues like HIV/AIDS and conversion therapy.
“[Since moving to NYC,] My life has gotten really gay,” he told GayCities.
Check-out Pride Guru Brogan’s rundown on all things NYC Pride.
NYC Pride:
I’m originally from the Twin Cities in Minnesota and Pride is simple there. You watch the parade, go to the festival in the park, then go to bars after, and it’s an amazing time. Easy. NYC Pride also happens to be my birthday, so this pup has some extra incentive to enjoy the weekend.
What makes NYC Pride special?
If you’re coming to NYC pride for the first time, check out some of the historic spots. See the Stonewall National Monument during the Pride rally Friday, June 22nd. There is such a diversity of events. From Youth Pride to Family Movie Night to Cosplay, it’s not just about the party.
Sunday Brunch:
Definitely check out Intermezzo for Tina Burner’s Electro Brunch and Voss Events Drag Brunch at Highline Ballroom with host Shequida.
Best Food:
If drag brunch isn’t quite your favorite flavor, some of my favorite less-extra brunch spots are Bar Bacon in Hell’s Kitchen (because what pup doesn’t love bacon?!), and Good Enough to Eat on Upper East Side. Brunch in Manhattan almost always comes with a little bit of a wait. Be sure to plan ahead.

Favorite Cocktail:
It’s pretty easy to find a bottomless mimosa around Hell’s Kitchen, Chelsea, and the Village.
Favorite Nightlife:
I recommend sticking to Hell’s Kitchen. You can bar hop, easily get from one bar to the next, and find a little bit of everything. Check out the rooftop at Boxer’s Hell’s Kitchen, or head to Industry or Therapy if you’re looking for a little bigger venue with some space to dance that’s not a full on circuit party.
Best place to find trouble:
  • Friday: Misbehave at the official Pride Party, Fantasy: Leather Edition with DJ Eddie Elias and DJ Jared Conner. There’s also MEAT Unleashed with DJ Nina Flowers and Phil Romano. Both have a mix of hot guys, great music, and a good time.
  • Saturday: Matinee’s main event at Stage 48 is the place to be with DJ Paulo and Dan Slater.
  • Sunday: Alegria is the only option Sunday night.
Best Human Pup Parties:
Check out the Eagle Friday Night. Otherwise, the official pride party for Friday is the fantasy: Leather Edition I mentioned already. Allegedly I’ll be in some Pup gear on stage assisting a drag queen at some point that night. Both are that Friday night though.
Best Cruising:
Welcome to your cruise ship, the SS Manhattan. Anywhere you please. A few safe bets to meet guys are Sheep Meadow in Central Park, Christopher Street Pier, and Equinox Greenwich Ave.
Best Hotel:
An amazing pick is the Dream Downtown. They usually have a pride pool party, and boast one of NYC’s best outdoor pools with portholes looking down into the lobby!
Favorite Party/Event
On Saturday, even more popular than the pier dance is the VIP Rooftop Party at Hudson Terrace. Grab your tickets now. This is seriously my favorite event of the weekend. If you can’t find a ticket to the pier dance Sunday, grab a ticket to Matinee’s Luvboat Sunset Cruise.
Watching the parade:
The parade route is new this year, so it’s a learning experience for us all. My best advice is to show up early with a group of friends and hold down your spot to grab a view.
Favorite Hangout:
Sun, boys, water, dogs. Throw down a blanket and layout on Christopher Street Pier, it’s the perfect way to relax and recharge on an otherwise packed weekend.
