When in Buenos Aires, check into the CH Madero Urbano Suites, a 4-star full-service, modern-luxury hotel located in front of Puerto Madero. This new hotel will impress even the most jaded business traveler with a gorgeous welcoming lobby that shows off views of the pool immediately upon entering.
Located in a strategic area in front of Puerto Madero, it is situated near the financial district and historic center, San Telmo and La Boca. The staff speaks a variety of languages and the check-in was friendly, professional and quick. The rooms at CH Madero Urbano are superb.
We enjoyed a studio room with an open floor-plan including living/bedroom/kitchenette all with floor to ceiling windows with a great view of Puerto Madero. It is a modern and functional hotel, great for those who travel for business or families and tourists coming to know Buenos Aires.
Puerto Madero is a great neighborhood to serve as your BA home base if you like waterfront, modern living with easy access to a host of local restaurants located along the water. We experienced many of BA’s biggest city sites from Puerto Madero via taxi and foot.
- Experience the La Recoleta Cemetery located in the Recoleta neighborhood, just a short taxi from Puerto Madero. Entrance is free with a $30-peso donation to the cemetery restoration society, and it comes with a guide book of the most famous people buried here like Eva Peron. This is a cemetery and landmark like no other and left me feeling connected to another dimension of humanity. Highly recommended.
- Walk from Puerto Madero for about 20 minutes to Plaza de Mayo where Casa Rosada, made famous by Evita, but now houses the office of the current president. Read more here:
Also visit the Metropolitan Cathedral on Plaza de Mayo, a stunning cathedral and the home of Catholicism in Buenos Aries.
- Puerto Madero is best discovered on foot. Take a run, or walk, along Rio Darsena Sur and take in the views of the BA skyline and the waterfront. There are a variety of restaurants (Osaka was a favorite for sushi located at Juana Manso, 1164 in the Los Molinos Building reservasmadero@osaka.com.pe ) shops, gyms and coffee places to enjoy along the way. The most memorable parts of this walk are the grand open parks, flanked by beautiful Parisian inspired architecture.
There’s so much to see in Buenos Aries–it becomes part of you if you let it. That next time the CH Urbano is available again, it was the perfect place to get a modern perspective on the historic city of Buenos Aries.
