Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, a scandalous slice of Tolstoy’s War and Peace has moved uptown to Times Square after a critically-acclaimed run in the Meatpacking District. The show, adapted by Dave Malloy and directed by Rachel Chavkin, has won the 2013 Richard Rodgers Award for Musical Theater, a Special Citation from the Obie Awards, as well as numerous other accolades. We went behind the velvet curtains at Kazino, a pop-up supper club where the show is presented, for an exclusive look into the backstage life of the performers as they prepared for the show.
